About

Dr. Yvonna Hrabowsky obtained her Doctorate in Dental Surgery and Prosthodontic Specialty Certificate from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. She returned home to bring these skills to the Niagara Region. As a seasoned professional she has witnessed the long term benefits patients receive when their needs are thoroughly assessed, planned and finished with appropriate maintenance visits.

Approximately 20% of the population has special dental issues. Dr Yvonna continues updating her education to help “the 20%” with special needs outside the general dentist population. Treating “the 20%” includes providing comfortable dental restoration and function for various arrangements of missing teeth from a single tooth, several teeth or a complete dentition. She addresses speech issues, congenital (birth) anomalies, chronic diseases affecting the oral environment, post oral cancer surgery reconstruction, TMJoint dysfunction, craniofacial pain and chronic headaches, tooth bruxism (clenching/grinding) and oral sleep appliances (for snoring, apnea and sleep disorder breathing).

Treatment options are reviewed and performed by Dr. Yvonna and her staff with Certified Dental Laboratories. Advanced situations require coordinated treatment with other dental specialists (Periodontists, Endodontists, Orthodontists and Oral Radiologists) with advanced bone reconstruction by Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons. Additionally Dr Yvonna has professional rapport with Certified Sleep Specialists, ENTs, Head & Neck Surgeons and other medical specialists (Neurologists, Cardiologists, Allergists etc.) to address underlying causes.

Healthy body mechanics are supported by physiological positioning of the mandible (jaw bone). This requires appropriate tooth height and position. Mal positioning causes sleep disorders, headaches, sore muscles, problems swallowing, gait & balance issues, and upper body weakness. Simple tests determine whether correction of “the bite” is required for optimal body comfort and performance. Hence Dr. Yvonna’s consultation and treatment often includes the expertise of manual therapists (Osteopaths, Chiropractors, Massage Therapists etc).

Thorough assessment, prevention, restoration and maintenance is the best way to optimize longevity of your dental investment. Contact us to discuss your concerns and learn how we may be able to help you.
